Ceremonies such as weddings, renewal of marriage vows, or baptisms are a major part of the life of each individual and his or her family. Choosing a pastor, location, and other things related to religious ceremonies in a foreign country can be a complex combination. We are therefore willing to lend a helping hand and assist in the planning of the ceremony. We do not take care of comprehensive planning, instead point to other parties when needed.

Our main service area is Vatnajökull Region, which extends from Kirkjubæjarklaustur east to Djúpivogur. However, there is nothing that forbids contacting and asking for another location for ceremonies. In Vantajökull Region there are seven churches, of all sizes, each more beautiful and with its own uniqueness.

There are also a myriad of beautiful places in an area that has often been described as one of the most beautiful sites in Iceland. In the Vatnajökull Region you can find places like Skaftafell, Glacier Lagoon, Ice Berg Lagoon, Ingólfshöfði and Lón. Rev. Stígur, who usually performs the ceremonies, is a born and bred in the aeria and he can therefore assist in choosing a place for your ceremonies, based on your needs.

Suggestions for locations for ceremonies

We can also assist with the search for accommodation as well as transport on request. This can be a ceremony by or on a glacier or in an ice cave. We can also point to banquet halls and good restaurant services, but restaurants in the Region are renowned for delicious food.
